Georgia National Cemetery

SouthCare Funeral Homes and the Cremation Society of the SOUTH have sponsored this website to educate and inform veterans and their families of the Rights and Privileges that they are valiantly entitled to.

The death of an Honorably Discharged Veteran should never go unnoticed or be taken lightly. The death sets into motion a series of ceremonial procedures as a lasting tribute of the veteran's service to our Country and is enacted no matter the rank or length of service.

In addition to the entitlement to certain benefits from the U.S. Government, SouthCare ensures that the Veteran’s casket is properly draped and ruffled with the United States flag.  At the memorial service, the flag is placed next to the urn in a triangular fold.

When military honors are rendered, Taps is played.  The flag is then properly folded and presented to the next-of-kin on behalf of one grateful nation.

SouthCare Funeral Homes and Cremation Society of the SOUTH has been serving area families for almost two decades and we are committed to personalizing a funeral, memorial, graveside or cremation service that honors the life and legacy of your loved one.

We pledge to honor each Veteran with the same commitment and devotion that they exemplified while serving in uniform.

For it is through the veteran's service that the Rights, Privileges and Freedoms we enjoy today have been preserved.
